About Debre Tabor University:

Debre Tabor University (DTU) was established in 2008 on 126 hectares of land in the Eastern part of the town of Debre Tabor. Its foundation stone was laid by AddisuLegesse (the then Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia) and DemekeMekonen (the then V/President of Amhara regional State and the current Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia). Its training mission however, took three years until the necessary inputs (like buildings, lab equipment, human resource, administrative structures, etc.) are fulfilled. Its actual missions of admitting and training students, therefore, began in 2011 in five faculties. These are: faculty of Social Science, faculty of Natural Science, faculty of Agriculture, faculty of business and Economics and faculty of Engineering.
